Visit Tybee Island Light Station with Coast to Coast

Have you already had a chance to visit Georgia’s largest and oldest lighthouse? It was built in 1736 and serves sailors to this day. What’s more, as a tourist attraction, it is the most intact light station in America, with all the historic ancillary buildings.

Near the tower you will find three Light Keeper’s Cottages. Among other things, they preserve archaeological finds, which you will visit in the Small Summer Kitchen, which was built in 1812. Across the street is the 1899 Military Battery, which houses the Tybee Island Museum. Exhibits highlight the time of the Euchee tribe, the history of Fort Screven, the Golden Age of Tybee and more.

While the Lighthouse has been rebuilt several times in its history, its current appearance is preserved from 1916. However, the tower can be visited individually but also in larger groups.

Rent a golf cart and make your trip even more interesting!

Your trip does not have to end with visiting the lighthouse itself. Due to its favourable location, take the opportunity to explore the shores of Tybee Island along with other attractions. The ideal solution is to rent a golf cart from Coast to Coast, whose headquarters is located just one mile from Tybee Island Light Station & Museum.
